How to Draw Intermission: June 2023
Popping in with a list of required comics reading for the month of June.
Howdy, friend.
I just got back from Singapore—and Tokyo!—and my body is having a hard time returning back to my typical Nebraska rhythms. This, in addition to working ceaselessly on my graphic memoir, has made me realize I don’t have the time or energy this month to craft a full new issue of How to Draw.
Instead, I want to showcase the comics I accepted during my stint as guest editor of HAD last month. There were so many incredible submissions and I’m deeply in love with each one I was able to publish. I really hope you’ll check them out, give them a read, and see what I’m fussing about.

I didn’t get to draw as much as I wanted to in Singapore—keeping track of a flock of college kids, doing everything I could to not be dehydrated in that oppressive humidity, and managing our daily activities kept me BUSY. I did bust out this little comic. I’m very much missing papaya milk and wish the US would get its act together and make this a part of our collective diet.
Anyway, if this is your first time visiting How to Draw, a hearty welcome. You can check out our archive here. And if you haven’t already, please consider subscribing so you don’t miss a thing.
I’ll be seeing you soon. ♡
