A new graphic review, a Best of the Net nomination, and an Editorial Fellowship
News, news, and more news.
Howdy, friend.
I wanted to share some bits of exciting news that didn’t make it into my last newsletter.
Thanks for reading! ♡

1. I have a graphic review of Russell Brakefield’s excellent poetry collection Irregular Heartbeats at the Park West in the newest issue of RHINO Poetry.
Curated by Kelcey Parker Ervick, this new graphic review issue is wonderful and features an incredible roster of talented artists. I’m delighted to be a part of it. Here’s a couple of snippets from my review.
2. My comic “Soft Eyes” was nominated for Best of the Net by The Florida Review.
This comic—all about pets and the wisdom we can learn from them—is near and dear to me, so this nomination feels especially meaningful. A huge thanks to the editors.
3. I was recently selected to be a Shenandoah Literary Editorial Fellow in Comics!
It’s a ways off, but I’ll be curating all comic submissions September 2025 for the forthcoming issue of Shenandoah. We’ll PAY for all accepted pieces. I’ll be posting reminders as we approach—can’t wait to see what folks submit!
Fantastic!
